Injen Cold Air Intake

I need some help guys.

Just got my Injen CAI today from a local shop. I installed it. Sounds and looks great. Only problem is the little grill right next to my fog light. That little grill has these latches that are pushing on my air filter. Sorry I couldn't get any pics to help out; no digital camera at the moment.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Send a pm to our member Bap in California. He installed the same intake. I saw it a month ago, but I did not know anything about latches getting in the way.

You can cut the plastic tabs or just remove the entire grill from the bumper. I took the plastic out when I installed my Injen and havn't had a problem since. If you leave the tabs they will end up cutting into your air filter.

I thought about cutting them short and seeing if that would work. I guess I will go do that now.

Edit. - I cut the latches short and now it fits with no problems. But still curious to why it didn't fit in the first place.

I had the same "problem" when I had mine on. You can take off the grill and it won't rub anymore.

Yea. So I tried to take off the grill, but it didn't work out to well. I'm sorta mentally challenged when it comes to doing simple tasks on cars.

But yea, I just decided to clip the latches shorter. Now it fits perfectly.

I don't think it is annoying at all. In the higher RPMs it does get loud, but not a disgusting loud.

Overall, I really like it. Good product for a good price.

I cleaned my air filter the outher day on from my CAI and the plastic clips that I could not see when I reinstaled my bumper had been bent and wore down but no damage to the air filter. so I cut the plasic tabs down and reinstaled the bumper so I do not have that isue any more as well I went to kregan and purchased some fule line hose for where the meatal CAI pipe runs through the hole in the fender. sliced the hose on one side and sliped it over the sheet metal at the bottom of the hole where the piping would touch ocasionaly that would create a ratelling sound one the fule line hose fix the rattel.
