you read around about the K&N intake before you buy it.

Hi welcome and nice choice on the fit.

There is plenty of Intakes, Headers and Exhausts (Full Cat Backs) available for the fit to buff up the HP. You could then try to reduce weight with some light alloy wheels, and some carbon fiber components such as a hood and/or trunk.

But honestly the fit isn't built for speed so consider spending some money on interior and exterior modifications for comfort and style.

Or you could put money into suspension, there is a lot of springs, coil-overs and strut bars and tie downs available for the fit as well.

Either way there is a lot you can get for your car and you are going to have to decide which you want first

Cat-back is everything from the catalyzer back, which on the Fit is a center-pipe and the muffler (2 pieces). Fit has 4 exhaust pieces total -- headers, front-pipe (cat), center-pipe, and muffler.

You may want to read this. It was buried a bit, but still relevant:https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...phoon-sri.html

There are many better intakes for the Fit out there: CAI's, SRI's, and chambers as well. Each type has their own fans for various reasons; I'm partial to the chamber-types, and they seem to be catching on more and more due to the excellent drivability the provide. Brands in general that seem to have no issues: Injen, Fujita, AEM, H-Fit, T1R, and Last Station. You might want to do some searching around on here for the various brands, you'll find info in droves.

K&N does not make a cold air intake for the Fit, only a Short Ram that is very badly made. K&N is the ONLY Short Ram intake that must be taken apart in order to clean or replace the filter. Use the SEARCH BUTTON for info. on K&N (I wrote the two different threads on the SRI system). For the money, the best intake for power and safety at mid-range rpms seems to be the H-FIT Supa Sucka. As was the case with our member Wave, CAI systems can easily hydrolock in bad weather and destroy your engine. You made a BIG mistake in buying the K&N SRI. You also could have bought mine for 1/2 the price you paid (that's how much I think of it).

Suggestion: Study these forums CAREFULLY before you spend your money on any modifications.

update: just got my k&n c.a.i. today . after reading your comments and others i was reluctant to put it on my car, so i called k&n and asked about my concerns. they assured me that all of the bugs were out and i would have no problems installing it. how right they were i encountered none of the problems i read about was a breeze to install about 35-40 min taking stock out putting new in. hats off to k%n the people spoke and they listened! car sounds great ..

YOU DO NOT HAVE A CAI (Cold Air Intake) from K&N- THEY DO NOT MAKE ONE for the Fit. YOU HAVE A SHORT RAM INTAKE. That's why they use the initials SR in their description. Your new SRI is a piece of junk, just like mine!

isnt k7N THE INNOVATERS OF C.A.I.? WHY DID YOU BUY YOURS INITIALLY? WAS IT BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY OF K&N PRODUCTS? OBVIOUSLY SO BECAUSE THEIR PRICE IS MUCH HIGHER THAN THESE OTHERS. I THINK YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE INSTALLING YOURS AND YOU HAVE JUST WROTE THEM OFF.

You obviously do not know a thing about K&N, and you obviously have not read any of the information on these forums about intakes or exhaust systems. You do not know the definition of Cold Air Intakes. If you did, you would not call K&N the "innovators of cold air intakes". They only make short rams. Before you shoot your mouth off, learn what you are talking about. You can waste your money any way you want to, but don't try to pass yourself off as a knowledgeable person on the Fit.
