I wonder why the us hks turbo kit includes the intercooler and is still rated 130 where as japan's kit is none intercooled and cheaper?

oh well...I can't wait to go turbo so I can get the full j's racing ti exhaust system and worry as much with the noise.

Well,
maybe you guys can riddle me on this one. It might answer the above question as well.
I have Autoenginuity software with OBD connector and I experimented with short ram, cold air and insulated sealed short ram with two ram air tubes going into the sealed filter chamber. I ran test on uphill FWY run at pedal to the floor in 5th gear (AT). Results were just about the same for all set up's! Run up to the hill got me up to 80mph just to start falling off on the hill itself. F...ing electronic throttle body won't open more than 79%! I am thinking about making a plunger to push it open all the way by a switch behind the gas pedal at full pressing of the gas.
No mater what I do to this car, that worked miracles on my CRX, make any difference to justify the expense.
I am guessing that forced induction is the only way to get something out of it since extra boost overpowers electronics as long as fuel ratio is mainteined. There is no substitute for it.
Thoughts?

i got to admit i hate the drive by wire crap. It makes my RPM's bounce around with the intake, or exhaust I had. I like full control of my car to some extent, and don't want to be driving in sport mode all the time.

i Dont really know why...ask HKS.
i think the reason they are rated bad is their fuel. they dont have the recirculating fuel pump so no matter what you do you reach maximun fuel flow.
i think i am going to re circulate the fuel pump and add a regulator.
hopefully it gets more power.
dyno number are coming by the end of the week.
STAY TUNED.....hahah

I don't get how recirculating the fuel pump adds power, can you explain?

it doesnt add power it limits power. For what i have expirenced on turbo cars that are newer for example the 2001-up honda civic and honda fit the fuel line has no return line they tend to have a lower fuel rating than that of their counterparts example civic/integra. By getting more fuel and changing it to a walboro fuel pump 255lph it allows for more boost = more hp.

The fuel problem i had happen when i was doning my friends turbo kit on his 2001 civic. The car was bogging because of the fuel issue. we drilled the pump , added some fitting and tee's, and some fuel lines with an xs engineering regulator and it fixed the problem.
This is why i think the Honda fit would run into issues when i raise the boost.

oic. Well, the Jacksons haven't reportedly ran into those problems with their 10lb test vehicle. Maybe that says something?

kinda hard cause it is all in the back but...if you wanna see what that otehr stuff looks like go to toyota lovers thread about turbo kits at sema and it shows the whole kit on a engine not in a car.
Thanks

So when is this going to be ready?

SO when this is done do we want to compare the HKS turbo kit VS the kraftwerks/s2/jr supercharger?

also heard the update that you were not going to go to the micromeet. unfortunate i wanted to see your kit.

kit will be released December. Im not sure when my car will be done. I just dropped it back off. The Jacksons like to do ALOT of testing/tuning that way when the Kit is released it is PERFECT with no issues. So far my kit has been perfect. Right now im somewhere between 155-165whp at 5psi. Have you made any hard runs on ur car yet?

Chris,
I have not really ran my car very hard... for some reason i think i am getting the same power on full throttle as half throttle. I am working with HKS but they dont really help me so much so i am going to attack the car head on with the fuel issue when i raise the boost. I have the program to re-do the maps on the fcon-is so i can re-tune it myself with the help of a professional. I am going to have some dyno numbers later this week probabaly by this saturday. So i dont know what horsepower numbers until i get it on the dyno. I am leaning towards the 140hp@ 5psi but i will be certain this weekend.

I am glad that Jackson is so great with their rescearh. that should re-assure you with the power of your car.
