Comparing 2 Headers Design

Not interested in the company names (you'll recognize them anyways! ) - just would appreciate your comments on the different designs of these two headers:

Headers A

Headers B

Hum... Header A looks like a 4-2-1 design. From other members comments, it means increase of torque at low and mid RPM. Header B is a common 4-1 design, wich yield its added torque at mid and high RPM.

Personnally, I wish Header A had been available when I was looking for one. Who wants to trade?

Header A: WeaponR
Header B: MeganR

Id suggest header A. Smooth and they arent known for leaking.

Normally this would be the case, but for the Honda fit and most newer cars with the exhaust manifold on the firewall side. the piping run can't be made long enough to pulse tune a 4-2-1 design. The length and diameter of the pipe cause a certin resonance depending on their respective length and diameter. if the pipes are too short, the engine would have to rev rediculously high for scavenging effect to occur. WeaponR made a product hoping people don't know this and are selling snake oil.

For the fit especially since the "header" bolts right to the catalytic converter there's no way you ca make the piping long enough for low end torque jump. With the Fit what will make power is exhaust gas velocity, which depends on bends, piping size and mostly just a good smooth flowing collector so there's as little turbulance as possible.

Will you be the mechanic to install my yet to purchase SuperCharge?

Thanks for the input... you reconciliate me with my Megan 4-1, although I might have to remove it if I go for the Jachson's Supercharge!!! What is holding me back, for one thing, is that I don't know a competent mechanic (in MTL) for that type of modification. Do you?

I know several competant mechanics in montreal . Installing headers or a Supercharger kit is actually pretty easy for anyone who is mechanically inclined. PM me if you need a list of places that are good/trustworthy

Header A is better, but you think you can see the difference ??? I think no.

Buy the less cost.

oh btw u don't need 2 remove ur headers to install the jackson racing supercharger b/c it's a rotorex design (it mounts to a belt, not to the exhaust manifold like a turbocharger) so u can keep ur headers on.

That's great news. My vote goes for the Megan, simply because I paid 230$ delivered and it still does the job after one full year.

You better look and see if those are the same as your car. As far as I know they are USA ONLY headers. In other parts of the world the collector area is different and the non-USDM ones have longer pipes not the shorties like the USDM one.

This is a non-USDM header. Note there is NO 0-2 sensor in the header ours goes into the front of the converter. So look under you car and check before you order yours.
