Talking My Story

Well after alot of debate I went ahead and purchased my new Megan Downpipe. (My mods are listed on the bottom) I felt like the car needed more of a growl and some added performance.
Soooo I opted for the Megan Downpipe which replaces the "kitty" with what I guess you can call a Hi Flo Resonator.
The install was done at a local muffler shop. IMO nothing can replace a high impact drill gun (which I do not have). The install took 45 minutes with NO SNAGS. But to be honest that wasn't what was on my mind through this whole process......it was "PLEASE NO CEL". Even having the mechanical cel fix I have still read horror stories on this forum! None the less after the install was done it was time to turn the magical key....NO CEL!!! I was soooo happy.
The sound is awesome. Not as loud as I thought it would be, but I still have the stock mid pipe. Low RPM shifting has a great low rumble and higher RPM's a super humm. The performance was extremely noticable and included smoother shifts throughout all five gears and most importantly faster acceleration throughout the powerband...wow! This car should have come like this in the first place . For those worried about popo, the sound can be controlled!!! The only downsides are the MPG's took a dip and it smells like you are filling up your gas tank all the time...lol . All in all happy with the Megan poduct, install and performance...A++

It depends on the Hi Flo Cat and what it is made out of because IMO cats are made either from;

1.Ceramic Core

2.Metal Core

From my experience Ceramic Hi-Flo Cats do blow out, especially if you are hard on them! Then they sound like doodoo! But they are alot cheaper then the metal ones and do add sound & perfromance.

The Metal Hi Flo Cat will certainly last longer and believe it or not produce more power then the ceramic hi flo cat. Downfalls would be it is heavier plus alot more expensive and they are not as mass produced as the ceramic style.
