Question Megan vs. A Spec Axle-back - Please help me decide...

My '08 Sport arrives any day and I have narrowed sport muffler choices down to the above. Both seem to be great deals for the price. I'd like deep low sound and a few HP. The A Spec folks have such nice tech test info, Megan has none but I love the look of the dual outlet - reminds me of my old beloved '90 Civic Si. Which would you choose and why?

Peace and Thanks

Exhaust

Sup mond,

It depends on what you are more lean towards since you said you like a deep low sound with a better performance gain. If you wanted the louder deep sound with a better gain then get the Aspec, but if you want a quiet deep sound with little or no performance then get the megan. I personally would choose the megan, not because i have one already, but because my friend has an aspec and i think it's a little too big and loud for my taste. However, most people like the big canister thingy so that might be a good choice if you like the noticable exhaust. The megan is more for looks but not too noticable, just enough to show people that you have a nice low sound with a hint of style. imo.

p.s. i have pictures if you want me to post them up and of course congrats on your new fit

Cool Megan Exhaust

I have the Megan Racing Axle back on my Fit and get more compliments on how it sounds as well looks. As stated above it comes down to what look or style you want. IMO coming from euro carz I will always be a fan of the good ole' Dual Tips. The axle back from Megan comes packaged very well....no dings, scratches just a great addition for added performance and style.
So Yes Megan!

The Megan Racing dual-outlet has been ordered and is in transit. I plan to paint the body with VHT flat black so as not to detract from the lovely pipes, as Arisenfury has done. Thanks, guys!

Smile Dual Tips

I hear ya. There was no other option for me...it was either dual tips or dual tips...LOL. You will be completely satisfied with the product, performance and sound. Easy install with removing two bolts that connect the axle back to the stock B- pipe then remove the muffler exhaust hangers. It is that simple!
As far as sound it will depend on what other mods you have to your car but for the most part it is a deep tone...not ricey at all! Plus it adds a well needed performance look to the rear end. The only downfall I would have to say would be that it is extremely shiney and sticks out. Alot of Fit Freakers are spray painting the muffler black and leaving the tips chrome for a nice look that covers up some of that shine! I have NOT done this yet because I would like to see what the car looks like dropped, if it still stands out alot. Hope this helps your decision.

I need to order the Megan....I've decided, but I need to get my truck back on the road first. I've got the read end apart putting in different gears. WOOOOO WEEEEEEE is that fun lol.

The soundclip above pretty much made the decision easy for me. Where's a good place to get it from other then Megan? Is everyone getting them from Ebay?

Unhappy Megan Problem

I painted the muffler body black and when taking the masking tape off noticed that there were two internal dings in the tailpipes, which appear as raised dings near the logo letters. It looks like someone dinged them from the inside with a center punch, or I guess I wonder if it's the tool they used in Taiwan to hold the pipes in place while they welded them. And upon closer inspection, the pipes aren't exactly parallel, either; it appears that once installed, the right tip will appear lower. The car still isn't here yet, so I can't try it on. Megan's return policy, which is standard, of course, is that products need to be returned "like new" and able to be "resold". I have sent them a message and will see how they respond. I was going to let the dings go because they would probably never be noticed in normal use, and thought maybe if I bent the muffler hangers a bit I could get the pipe tips level. Such a shame, though. It looks so shiny and nice out of the box it's really easy to miss flaws. Be extra careful in your initial inspection if you order a Megan muffler. More later...
