Base Fit/ Aftermarket Exhaust - Pics and Advise Please

I've got a base Fit and I want to get an aftermarket exhaust. My primary concern is that my car does not have the lip kit like the Sport and I don't want there to be a huge gap between the tailpipe and the bumper.

Does anyone know how much lower the rear lip goes on the Sport?

If you've got a base with aftermarket exhaust, please post pics!

THANKS

me...regardless of gap IMH(of most H)O. I hope this in some very odd

Thanks. That was a good find! After browsing through some other threads, I came across a few Sports with the HFP and it looks like they have nearly the same amount of gap. The difference is probably an inch or less.

Remember that the dip in the Base's bumper at the bottom is not there on
the sport, it goes straight across and the little fins on each side protrude a bit. So the exhaust does look a bit closer on the FS model.

i think the hfp is so ugly.

just get it customed. so it sits closer to the body.all you really have to do is bend the hangers a bit more at the top.

yeah...where the exhaust would be its like 1" or so lower but the overhang
comes out about 2" or so. It will give the illusion that it is lower since
there is more overhang. The middle of the bumper is just about the same
height but the sports lip does not follow the contour of the base's and it
just goes straight across, only looking like its lower.

Thanks for all the measurements! It looks like it should be ok as long as I steer clear of the HFP or anything similar that hangs low to begin with. I'm thinking the Megan or the Tanabe Touring.

Don't want to hijack.. but i thought this would be a suitable thread...

..is it just me or is the Tanabe Concept G meant to stick out by this much on my Base Model Jazz? Or is it mainly combined with a bodykit which would hide most of the exhaust?

hey smiester, im trying to get an idea of how the skunk2 hangs below the car,Is that the cat-back system? If so ,,can you or do you have a pic from the rear showing underneath the car???? Or does anyone have the skunk2 50mm with pics from the rear underneath??? I keep hearing n1 and i thought that was the curve in the back which makes the muffler stick out sidewayz...im def trying to avoid that..THanks by the way car looks good white was my second choice!!

The US Fit bumpers are bigger so it would hide more of the exhuast. You'd have to find more Jazz pics to compare yours to.

It's just a little slanted to the side. It's not like the Apexi N1 everyone thinks of. I'll try to get a few more pics up, but I know there are already other people with pics of the skunk2 catback up somewhere on this site.

Thank you!

smeister, your muffler looks a lot higher than most Skunk2 exhausts Ive seen.
Ive noticed some gap even on the Sports.

Those that are worried about the muffler hanging too low on a base, a quick fix would be either zipties or worm clamps on the exhaust hangers. Tighten them up and the muffler will pull upward to the bumper.

It does seem higher especially since I dont even have the rear lip on my base Fit. Who knows...I just installed it with the oem hangers and that's how it fits. I did notice it was a lot higher up then other exhausts. That's why I got it for my base Fit in the first place.
