there are no cams for the L15?

major bummer.

how much does the L15 make without nos, boost, or higher compression with basically everything else bolt-on done(intake, header, exhaust, v-tec and safc tuning)?

i would think it would have trouble getting beyond 125hp without cams, but that's just pulled out of the air. any dyno data yet?

J's Racing Fit made 124whp although they didn't change the intake manifold so they probably could've gotten around 130whp, then if you change the crankshaft, rods and pistons with those from a '09 fit you might be able to get around 135whp, then if you install a lightweight crankshaft pulley maybe 140whp.

wow. well that's not bad at all... still, makes me wonder what it would be like with some lumpy cams on it.

thanks!

Top Fuel also made a Fit with 150hp naturally aspirated with a 8000rpm redline, although i don't think they made the parts that they used available to the public.

Keep in mind all mentioned set ups are for non-US Fits. NO DBW!
On our Fits any attempt to add more NA air flow results in throttle butterfly closing more to give you that wonderful mileage courtesy of Honda! Yeah I am being sarcastic!
We need a way around it to make more than 0.2HP gains with headers, exhausts, intake's, ......
As is all these mods just make more noise at the moment, IMO!

If you search "throttle controller" on this forum you'll that a couple companies are designing controllers to bypass the throttle closing and instead pump more fuel into the engine with the increased airflow.

I just find that cat cams made some cams and even springs set for the L15A put they dont show any dyno chart or number of hp gain. They also make costum cam profile.

Does anybody understand cam specs to be able to tell us more about the cams they have listed. Like idle quality, power/rev range, etc.

The one listed under #2503001 is pretty moderate and should not change the idle very much. It has a fairly mild profile and is not that big of an increase over the stock profile interestingly enough the exhaust side changes very little from stock. Should be a nice street mannered change with no concerns about the valves hitting the pistons.

The next two are pretty hairy and would not work too well with an A/T unless you are going to go for a looser converter at the same time. Idle will be pretty lumpy and again the exhaust side gets less increase across the boards. Going up in lift almost half a mm would possibly necessitate fly cutting the pistons for valve to piston clearance. And with the lift rate it has using the stock springs is iffy.

Finally you guys realize that this is a company based in EUROPE right with all the attendant problems that creates.

Besides the extra shipping charges, what other problems would there be, I mean they are the only company making internals so far for the Fit that I know of.

Edit: If you were talking language barrier they do have a UK site as well: CatCams.co.uk
