B Series into A Fit?!?!?!!?!?!?

Hi There

Please nobody flame me or go K Series is better, I know the K Series engine is great in every way. But my question is has anyone ever try to put the B-Series Engine into a Fit ???? The reason i ask is because i picked up a K20A Type R for my Ek and will have a B16B Civic Type R and a B20Vtec motor just sitting around. So i was thinking maybe i can try to shoehorn a B Series into the Fit, problem is i haven't heard or seen anyone doing it . So i was wondering what you guys think and if you ever seen any Fits roll around with this combo ?

Thank For Reading

Search is your friend. But to give you an answer now, there is someone out there that put a b18 into a fit. Unfortunately, there is no DIY on it and to the best of my knowledge I do not know if anyone make mounts of us yet. And from what I heard the K20 fits in with just a mount. HOWEVER I do not want to give you false info. So do a quick search on that. (it can be found here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...iscussion.html )

I say, go for it!

I think the fact that every shop can do a b swap with their eyes closed has spoiled the new generation "tuners".....back in the day when I first did the d.b swap, I had weld my own mounts.......>__>

heh. i really did mean G22

its a hybrid motor. H22 DOHC head, with the F22 Single cam block.

basically your boosting the strong f22 motor and the h22 head gives it more air flow.

and both the engines are found in the prelude of course.
this is what it dynos

not bad for a $1500 set up for everything.

well getting back on topic...he has an extra engine lying around and nothing else. i think if you got the time energy and money to do it then go ahead and do it but keep in mind that you will still have that L15 lying around. i guess swap that into your bike too....lol jk

Thank you for clearing that up. Hmmm I wonder why I never of this before, since yeild so much power for "OEM" parts

But going back to topic, Fit Ippo IT IS your car so it up to do on what motor you want to swap. The K would yield more power at a lighter weight vs. the B, however the B would be easier to find, it would be "cheaper" and easier to mod.

Since you do have the B ATM, go ahead to install that. To my knowledge, (with the K) all you need is the motor mount and wiring to swap in with or little play with the firewall. So with the B, with almost the same size, would be the same theory.

Once agian this is theory not "in use" so IF ANYONE have better infomation pleace correct me .

Cool, you can curse. Because, it is old technology. Go with a K series, better gains, better all around. It just does not make sence to go b-seires in a 07+ car. Mind as well just go grab a shell and make some power. A lot cheaper and makes more sence to me.

I think you should go for it. If you can figure out how, and do it with in your means, why not. Its YOUR car, I personally don't need approval from internet people on my projects. You should have heard all the belly-aching when I decided to throw an F22B1 in my del Sol. You would have thought I was suggesting a 3 cylinder Geo engine.
