Weapon R IM

Anyone know if the WeaponR intake manifold is any good? Just stumbled across it on their website and haven't seen anyone with it, was just curious about it.

they got all the "bugs" worked out of it. it makes the fit run a little leaner. i dont think it is worth the money though. looks freaking cool though.

Besides the Bugs.. It will give a better throttle response and it will give more HP and TQ..
Without fuel tuning it gets 5hp and 6TQ. We worked out the Low EGR Flow Problems and will be releasing it soon..

How does it increase throttle response the car has an e-throttle? I'd like to see some before and after dynos on that sucker myself.

Just because it gets better throttle response doesnt need to have anything to do with the throttle body... It is because of the runner length and Velocity stack for each runner..

Do a search and you will find the dyno results..

I'm just wondering how a different intake manifold changes the way the electronic throttle responds to inputs from the accelerator pedal is all. I can see how longer intake runners would increase the speed of the intake charge, but that doesn't have anything to do with throttle response. It would be a huge disappointment to add a new intake manifold and find that the e-throttle still won't open the butterfly as quickly as you would like it to. I did a search on the dyno results and what I found was more than a little distressing. From what I read it would appear you rushed an Asian market product into the US and it jumped up and bit you in the ass. I never was able to find any info on A/F ratio and am intersted to see what you came up with. I am not trying to be difficult I just have a few questions about your product and your claims about it.

so basically what you're saying is the only way to get better throttle response would be to replace the throttle body...?

There's more to throttle response than just the rate at which the butterfly opens.

Actually no, the throttle body itself is probably just fine as it is, the trouble lies in the fact that the electronic actuation of the throttle plate is not an exact replica of a cable pulling on a pulley to open the butterfly. Honda, in their engineering wisdom built in a "delay" for lack of a better descriptor that muddies the reponse curve. In brief, when you "floor it" you aren't really getting full throttle immediately. Why this is, I do not know, but it is. My question for Leo was how thier new intake manifold is supposed to do away with this little electronic bugaboo. His response didn't really answer the question. I suspect that their new manifold has real promise, and I am thrilled that Weapon R has decided to support the GD3 by making it, I'm not sure that it is ready for prime-time just yet thats all.

u didnt notice any difference in throttle response when u threw on that cai? its drawing in more air which will increase the response.. i dont feellike getting scientific right now lol im tired and hungry

Eat, sleep, feel better I am also tired, so I won't get snippy. I didn't notice a change in how the engine responded to my pushing on the gas pedal, the "lag" is still there. Like you've left it in too high a gear when you stomp on it. Kind of a one one thousand, two one thousand, then the engine responds with more revs (not that long of a delay, but you get the idea) The engine defineately revs more freely and is much more willing to run to redline than before the CAI. I think I'll just get the Blitz controller and STFU
