Hey Chris,

just received this rather insulting pm (won't mention usernames). Would you like to clarify matters please:

"hello i have a question for you guys at mfactory. the point of a product sponsorship is to test the product, is it not? why would you give an lsd unit to a car that will never see a track never see high power applications never get beaten on and never get pulled out of the garage. not to sound spite here but im not very impressed by your choice of testers (jdmchris). i have just blown out my lsd from over 50 auto crosses and about 100 times at the drag strip( i have the time slips and video to prove all of this) need less to say i need a new lsd but i will not be looking at your product because there is no real performance testing due to your garage queen pick of a car. thank you that is all"

I know who that is from and frankly he doesnt know what i do and dont do with my car. He can think my car sits in the garage all the time. My car gets beat on, by not only myself but also others in the industry. I dont drag race... but I do get tracktime (road racing) at my disposal. The member who sent you that PM is just bitter because he wasnt chosen for the test vehicle. If he chooses not to purchase the LSD because of his crybaby ways then he his truly missing out on this great product. I was on the track twice with this LSD, but due to how the car sales industry is I havent been able to get much track time with my new work schedule. I posted on one of the other threads after I came home from the track with the LSD and my thoughts.

As in my other posts... Entry speed into corners is higher, and exit speed is just a crazy difference from stock. Turn in is alot easier and while in a turn the car grips and basically feels like your on roller coaster rails. Understeer is almost gone now and the car GOES when you launch.

So like I said.. If he wants to cry and not get the LSD then it is really is his loss.

*EDIT* The White Fit has been Daily driven since the LSD was installed. My Girl daily's the silver Fit now.

Helical LSD's give you instant throttle response. They also don't "lock", they constantly vary the torque transfer between axles.

For a street car (with limited track use) and/or drag use, the Helical LSD is the better choice.

If it is purely for the track (as in circuit), then the Plate LSD has the potential to be better, depending on the driver. You need to learn how to drive with this one. Once you've learned, it is a better choice.

Helical LSD's do not need to be broken-in, no. Just put it in and go

They only work on acceleration. If you take your foot off the gas (or if one wheel is in the air), then it behaves like a stock open differential.

Best fluid to use for your current application would be Honda MTF
