So I dyno'd my Fit

Took the Fit to a local Mustang Dyno shop for baseline testing.
Max Power 86whp@6k rpm
Max Torque 80 lb-ft@5k rpm
There is virtually no power below 3k rpm...

Power mod list:
T1R Intake
T1R Test Pipe
T1R B-Pipe
T1R 50S Exhaust
Megan Racing Header

The dyno result shows that bolt-ons will result in more losses than gains, for the L15. Going turbocharged next week.

Its due to the header and a cat-delete. It causes the Fit to run lean enough to loose power.

Yea its wayyy too lean with all those mods. No back pressure whatsoever. Yet the Fit NEEDs back pressure to make power because of the tiny 1.5L engine.

That's completely untrue, but then again 95% of the time you hear people mentioning "back pressure" they have no idea what they are actually talking about.

Back pressure is not a good thing and you are better off without it. The problem is lack of design in parts, a properly tuned exhaust will use the exhaust pulses of the engine itself to kinda suck out exhaust. There no such thing as to little back pressure.

For a Mustang dyno the numbers aren't bad, not good but not bad.

Thanks for sharing the dyno results! Too bad it didnt show gains, hopefully the new turbo makes all the mods worth it. Then share again! :-0

Bolt-ons are just a waste of money. You'll probably end up losing power messing with the stock settings. Honda knew what they were doing when they designed their engines (especially true for econ engines l15a) and set them where there at for a reason.

The kit sold in Asia is different and won't work with the usdm Fit without modifications...
You thinking of getting one?

epic fail. Backpressure is BAD. Always. backpressure is NEVER GOOD.

What you want is to optimize exhaust size in order to maintain velocity of the gases escaping. Go as big as you can while maintaining the velocity. If the velocity slows, step the size back down. But regardless, you NEVER WANT BACKPRESSURE.

I think the big problem is, in order to take advantage of all those mods, you need a tune, via a SAFC or piggyback ecu.

But for the Fit, it's not worth the money to me to bother modding it n/a like that. Obviously 86whp is pathetic. Anyways, GL with the turbo kit.

there was a time when i was so close to splurging on a bunch of bolt-ons....glad i didn't. as of right now, i'm just rolling with a Mugen drop-in and a removed muffler (love the sound....and its FREEEE). chances are ill just stick with that for now, buy the Blitz throttle controller later, eventually stick some light weight rims (RPF1s more than likely) with some sticky tires...and perhaps buy a header...because of the majority of bolt-ons i read about, the header seems to be the one that provides the more noticeable results according to a great and many around here...after that, when my car has a good 50 or 60 thousand miles on it (only at about 16 thou right now) and a few tax returns later...i might splurge on some forced induction.
