B series engine swap??

Is it possible to fit a b series engine in a fit? Has it ever been done? I'm looking for some alternative engine swaps because i have no money to buy a k20

Would be a HUGE pain in the butt. The B series rotates in the opposite direction, so the motor would be on the opposite side of the engine bay, so all the accessory attachments, rad etc would have to be modified or replaced, the exhaust manifold would likely hit the lower engine support, all the mounts would be custom, the shift linkage uses rods, where as the Fit uses a cable shifter. The B series uses a return gas line, where as the Fit and other K series cars don't.

IMO, the L series from the 2006 Civic will be the best low budget swap for the Fit.

I would honestly say I could see the easiest swap being the new R18 and the most difficult being the K Series

my bad, the new Civic uses the R series, not the L.

I really think that the R18 maybe the way to go on this one. I mean I have two friends with old D Series motors in the 350-500HP area

K-Series would most likely be easier than the B-series simply because of wiring and engine placement. The K-series is also a physically smaller engine than the B series and weighs less.

Besides all that. Even the K-series would be a very difficult swap. I don't think it can be done without some serious cutting of metal to make it fit. There is a guy on Honda-tech that has a show car Fit with a K20 Swap but it still does not run.

exactly.... I talked to these guys and they definately said it will not be running until they have a few months to stop doing everything and really tear into the conversion. I mean Mugen has one done and it is welded in at a wierd angle and only drives 10mph... LOL I personally think the only team that will get one running first will be Hasport....

I say, just stick with the L15 or L18 motor. The costs for this type of conversion would not be worth it. Plus even if you did get it to work we are talking serious balance issues. The car is already very nose heavy.

Oh it will be so worth it in the long run. The power of a true Formula motor in a car that Honda has engineered for amazing tuning potential...
