why cant an open air type filter be used ? why drop in type? One of the members here has an A/T Jazz and uses the K&N filter 57i and he doesnt seem to have any problems, and he has posted all good comments about it.
So pls explain to me why not an open air type filter? i m really curious need to know ur point of view if u had any experience with the open air filter.

open air risk of sucking in hot engine compartment air, unless you do a pipe mod which'll direct feed the air straight to the filter.

Cool

Yes, it's very important to insulate the filter from the heat.

I think i got a K&N 57I and maked a heatshield in stainless.

I have a Honda jazz 1.4 EUDM and a honda civic Type-R EP3.

For my EP3, i had put a hondata intake joint for insulate the intake manifold from the engine. The temperatur is more low. That's guarantee to you don't loose HP with a hot engine. And i have a AEM CAI. Good sound and good HP gain.
