Spoon and AJ Racing HP/TQ numbers?

Hello,
I thought I saw a post on this forum that talked about a dyno of the AJ Racing Fit. I can't find it now.

I'm wanting to know what mods these track cars have for power increases and what the results show for improvements compared with stock?

My guess would be that if you did the basic bolt ons:
Intake, header, cat delete/high flow cat, catback, pullies, Throttle Body this would get you about 20-30 Engine HP (109 + 25 = 134-ish HP). Does this sound right?

130-140 HP is pretty decent for an Endurance type street/track car. Now, if I could get my future Fit to weigh about 2100 lbs (minus driver), that would be a really fun street/track car.

The Sport weighs (per Car And Driver) about 2481 lbs. What should the Base model weigh? (Hopefully below 2400 lbs).

Ok lets break this down:

Intake: 5hp Max(Because of the engine layout, only short ram intakes are possible for the Fit)

Header: 5-7hp Max

Cat delete/high flow Cat: 3-5hp Max

Pullies: 3-5hp Max

TB: 3hp Max

Best case scenario with all these parts would be about 25whp and even thats even pushing it. The fact that this motor is so small in displacement and initial HP, bolt ons really wont generate the kind of power you normally would get on a larger displacement motor like 2.0L NA or above.

Expect to pay at least $2k+ for that list of parts to generate 25hp max, when you put it into perspective, a turbo kit costing $3k making about 30-40hp doesnt sound as bad of an option.

Thanks JDMGD3,
I totally agree and understand that this is a small displacement 1.5L. But, even being conservative, a 20whp (22.7 eng HP with 12% drivetrain loss) is pretty decent. That's about 20% gain (22 / 109). For the new Si at 197 HP, 20% would be about 39 eng HP. That would take the same bolt ons as this Fit would (approximately). In my opinion, not bad really.

22 eng HP with those mods would really pep up this Fit. People buying this car better realize its a subcompact car that at best (which isn't bad at all) could be a great, one of the best for today, endurance compact racers with basic mods.

Thanks, any other comments.

Anyone have HP/TQ numbers for Aj or Spoon Fit's?

Keep in mind, this is a vtec motor. The D15/D16 cammed motors made pretty good power as well once they were cammed. I wouldn't be suprised to see this motor make closer to 150 hp at the flywheel n/a once head packages come out. For the benefit of the daily driver they've biased this engine for lower rpm torque. It's the delivery of torque at higher rpms that make for higher hp numbers.

Actually, I am expecting to see gains about 20-25whp with I/H/E and fuel management. This will improve the driveability of the car cuz the Fit really suffers from 1k-3k rpm.

never dynoed the Spoon but I don't think it will work as good as the T1R plus it costs a lot more.

The Spoon header doesnt have the O2 bung so we are not planning to being them in to North America but we should be bringing in some J's header. I will definitely dyno it and keep you guys informed.

This is quoted from the president of Spoon."HT: What was the Fit's stock horsepower and what is it now after the Spoon upgrades? TI: The stock 1500cc engine has 110 hp. We're still testing now, but we have achieved 125 hp already. "
