Very interesting question. I'm looking forward to a reply because I am also driving an AT (CVT transmission) und plan to get a boost in the far future for my L13A.

That is cool didn't know there was an auto turbo kit out there. I might have to consider the AJR one some day or get a different one if a different kind ever comes out.

not to say anything bad about the ajr turbo but from my understanding most of the parts in it are not all made by ajr its like 10 different companies for all the parts plus i know HKS always comes thru..but thats just what i think it is..if there is proof that ajr made all its parts for its turbo then i will reconsider

in short answer, HKS kit is for both MT and AT....
just a little different in tuning

and the 2nd issue here when your comparing T1R and HKS kit.
there's nothing wrong with T1r Kit and i have it in my AT fit...
but looking at 1wayfits HKS kit....i can only dream..i had made the right decision in the beginning to buy it....
in my opinion.....HKS kit is MUCH better engineered and better in quality

other might think different....that is just my thoughts...
thanks

if ive read the HKS directions correct...it says to isntall a banjo fitting wherer the oil pan drain bolt is and use that for a oil return line. id suggest getting your own fitting and drilling/tapping the oil pan above the oil line not using a banjo fitting....way too much flow restriction.

its all in the tuning. find a good tuner...and they can probably tune any turbo kit for an auto car.

one good thing about HKS turbo kit is that they are carb legal and if you live in cali you know you don't have to worry about getting cited. It would have been better if they made the kit for a/t too makes things easy.

and the AJR AT oil return line they provide with the kit or you can buy separate for $60cnd. won't fit, the bends are some how wrong, and hit on things...i ended up just using a stainless line

Stainless oil return line is the best option. T1R is nothing wrong with it, just the Emanage tune bugs me and needs to be done right. HKS is better quality, but also produces less power.

have you gotten your car tuned locally? dont expect the base tune they sell with the kit to be 100% good with your car. IMO, maps that come with turbos are only good to get you from your house to the tuner...your climate has a great effect on how it will run.

I have gotten it tuned locally, the tune for driving is good. My problem right now is rich idling and can't be adjusted with the Emanage. I'm replacing my O2 sensor next week and hopefully that will fix that. I have an MT. So I can't say how different it is for the AT. Felix can fill you in on that.

The idle can be adjusted perfectly with the EMU. It isn't your oxygen sensor, it's your tune.

I can send you a basemap with no CEL and no rich idle. Take it to your tuner and tell him to give up that AF adjustment map BS. We've got direct injector control, why deliberately avoid it to use the 600$ EMU as a damn VAFC??

the TURBO AT is faster...but not FAST like 1wayfit's HKS with MT.....
we've raced side by side and he can ditch me .......that proves AT is NO where near the MT with turbo....

good thing about AT is that when shifting...boost doesn't drop as much as shifting MT....no matter how fast u are shifting.....the drop on boost is always less on AT....i can keep it on boost from 1st gear all the way to 4th gear.....for some reason...5th gear..i can't boost as high? ??? may be the gearing on the tranny is much different.

and Yes i live 5min away from AJR....i still have to get my computer return to run properly

I thought about this also. When Josh told me his oil return was his drain plug I thought that was the stupidest thing they could have did.

From what Josh said, the kit creates some kind of crank case vacuum. I didnt get this? Turbo cars create crank pressure, not vacuum.
I just figured when the cars running the oil in the pan is slung around.
