KWSC i destroyed my rotrex

i think i am the first one that destroyed their KWSC kit on this forum. i can't believe it i'm really sad. i pulled off the whole kit already and i am back to stock. the rotrex is defientely seized. i tried to spin the pulley and it gets stuck

i was driving to work and i heard a really loud screech from the engine bay and the car stopped. i pull off to the side. i couldn't think of what the problem was. i just kept looking. then i look under my car and i see a hose. i check the rotrex oil and it is all gone...that was when i knew i was screwed.

i finally get it home jack up the car. i call up KraftWerks and they told me what i need to check if the rotrex is sized...it is seized.

btw i found out how i lost all my oil. time for pics:

something hit my rotrex oil filter and the nipple broke off and the hose fell off and leaked all the oil out. it didn't hit anything else because everything under my car is ok. i for sure didn't bottom out or the oil pan would be in bad shape too. i talk to Oscar and he said we can work something out. i still have to call. thank you KWSC. your customer service is excellent. thank you for all your help

now it is time to decide buy another rotrex and:
1. keep the kit and put it back on
2. sell the kit and do a k24 block/k20 head swap
3. don't buy the rotrex sell the rest of the kit for cheap and let someone else buy the rotrex

It sucks to see that this had to happen to you. I'd keep the kit and install another rotrex for the Fit's kit or work out a deal for the larger C30-74 unit along with adding a beatrush underpannel.

so is that where the stock rotrex oil filter actually sits under the engine? That's kinda a bad location to be placed for an oil filter.

yep that is where it sits. i guess i post this up for people with this kit. if i were to do it over again, i would put a beatrush underpannel or relocate the where the oil filter sits...or get a k20

That was the one thing that I was concerned about but like you said you hadn't bottomed out and if so it was tucked in between the oil pan and transmission. I was interested in buying a Beatrush anyway and this has clenched it....I know that you've done a lot of work and have posted some good stuff.... I hate it that you have had to suffer this set back.

koi it was really a fluke deal that this happened to revd34, and you can relocate it with out much trouble. If I get a Beatrush, it will be for the aerodynamic advantage it would provide for my stock hight suspension and I will show the picture of the damaged oil filter to my wife so she won't give me static for buying more stuff for my car that I don't need.... Don't worry. How about the alternator and belt deal?

everything else is ok and yes it was a fluke. still i would do something about so it doesn't happen to you guys. spend the extra $200 for the beatrush underpanel or relocate the lines. don't chance it or you might have to spend the extra money buying a new rotrex...not cheap (ROTREX IS NOT REBUILDABLE!!!)

sell it all and buy a k24 from a crv and later on swap a k20 head on.

Have it professionally installed. I heard you can easily puncture your radiator while drilling. And revd, that sucks man I'm sorry ;( if you can afford it, do the K swap for sure!

I ruined a perfectly great car 40 years ago by doing an engine swap..... I have done a couple on trucks since that worked out very well but I an very leery of shoe horning something into a car as balanced from the factory as a Fit..... Installing the super charger required only tweaking some brake lines and that was time consuming, I don't even want to consider all of the alterations to squeeze a K motor into it.... It is a whole lot more involved than just swapping out parts..... Everyone would be putting K motors in their Fits if it was feasible.

It may be the traction drive unit in the Kraft Werks unit that can't be rebuilt , but hopefully not.

bummer . seems like the cheaper solution would be to replace the rotex.

build up the L15

Stopped by the mechanic and got the alternator moved forwards 1/2" or so - the belt noise has gone away for the most part thankfully.
