WRX TD04 turbo L13a CVT

So I have been researching on potential turbos to use on my l13a CVT setup. Read on several site/forums that the TD04/TD035 turbo is ideal for the Fit. I have the opportunity to get one off a WRX. I read that the spool up time is between RPM 2500 to RPM 5000, but i'm not sure.... should I go for it?

Your opinions and comments are appreciated.

TD04s are generally good for small-displacement engines like our L13As; they work well even with D15Bs.

My only concern is your tranny. The clutch packs on GD CVTs get fried quite easily at 120 WHP - they're not really suited for turbo applications.

Otherwise go for it - especially if you can source a manual gearbox somewhere.

Actually turns out it's not a WRX but an STI, so the turbo is not a TD04 but a VF30 none ballbearing...so I guess that's that. =(

Found a turbo from a Mitsu. Libero. It's a TD04L for US$ 220. However, I have been strongly recommended to use a CT9/CT9b turbo off a Toyota Starlette... Opinions and comments would be greatly appreciated .

Finding TD04 isn't hard... fairly cheap. Since i'm a subie owner. I see them going for 100$ in forums... But too bad I don't have mine anymore. Sold it, since I changed my turbo.

Would be interested in learning how to tune the ECU after doing all the piping, etc.

On my old hatch(d15b7 motor) I had the TD04L turbo, it spooled very quick and loved it.
