It is a better deal than expensive JDM crap that does little else than attract the attention of thieves and cops.... I have had to adjust the belt once which is no big deal taking maybe a minute at most.... You get to drive an econobox you can haul a lot of crap and or passengers in with better performance and handling of a 3 liter 2 seat sports car of the 1960s that weighed more and required more attention.... You just need to drive a car that is equipped with one to understand.... A 30 H.P. increase on a 92 cubic inch engine is great and the 40% increase in torque is even better..... I drive the hell out of mine and love it.

yeah. i guess another way i'm looking at it is this - the fit is slow, the kwsc (esp. on a AT equipped car) makes it a little less slow but in the end you still end up with a slow car.

true or false?

is $3k a lot of money to make a slow car less slow?

yes or no?

If you want to play you are going to have to pay..... It has always been that way. If you haven't driven a KWSC equipped Fit you really have no way of knowing whether it is slow or not..... If you want to make an increase in usable power of 35% on any car you are looking at spending the same or more, check it out and you will see.

In certain circumstances, yes it's still quite slow. This is not a car to be making top end power. But up a hill or off the line, there's a definite difference. Buying my KWSC was solely for the torque! I was just too damn tired of the little 1.5 dying on the hills.

generally true, for NA cars. are there any KWSC fits here in the DC area? i'd love to ride in one.

it's just kinda hard to accept that 27whp for $3000 figure, and the MAP failure mode that is unresolved.

I know of at least 2-3 people with CEL codes or this MAP issue, but I've had zero issues with mine...

The only problem I have had with mine was because of a rat that ate a silicone hose to the super card.... I replaced it and sprayed some varmint repellent around under the hood and have had no problems whatsoever. Adding 27 hp to a 1.5 liter engine is like adding 108 hp to a 6 liter engine.

You can read what BlackCobra said about driving my car on page 127 of the "Texas Anything Goes" thread.

MNFit, revd34, and Koi I believe had issues in the past with their KWSC, but then again they also had many more upgrades on their cars. They may be more vocal in this forum, but they are far outnumbered by the amount of owners here who have enjoyed their kits without issue.

My issues so far haven't been actual problems but things that COULD be problems that I asked on the forum for some insight. I haven't had any actual real issues with the kit yet.

here is that quote..

Texas coyote has vented hood, the black RPF rims, supercharger and I think he is going to install a full 2" exhaust if i am not mistaken. Talking about it here doesnt do it justice, you have to see and exerience it for yourself.

But those issues looked like they werent caused by the kit, but rather in one case installation error and the other a road hazard.

Except for the rat eaten hose and the one belt adjustment I haven't had to touch anything under the hood that I wouldn't have had to without the KWSC...I am using the modifications suggested by Oscar Sr. for use with the base kit which is lighter wheels and free flowing axle back pipe.

And that's what I forgot to mention. I know there's only a few of us here, but those with just minimal upgrades or a base kit only like myself, we have no problems whatsoever. The KWSC is a great product.

Texas Coyote touched on this, but I think it's important to look at HP gains in % terms of stock HP. I don't remember the specs for the GD... but it's something like 108HP stock, right? If the KW kit is producing an additional 27HP, that's a 25% gain, quite substantial.
