Sid this is in no way an insult to you.
The other day I was doing some routine checks under the hood of my Fit. I have been using the Sid Short Ram Intake now since August and I noticed a small hole on the bottom of my filter. Apparantly the filter was too large and has/was touching the coolant hose. It burned just a small hole in the filter but it doesn't take much dirt or water to do a lot of damage. Sorry for the camera phone pic it was all I had available at the time. So if anyone else out there is using the SSRI please check your filters to make sure it's not touching the coolant hose. I replaced my filter today with a smaller one so there's no chance in hell it will ever touch anything hot again.

Its a good idea to inspect your filters every oil change regardless of what style aftermarket system you use. My A-spec CAI had a hole ten times that size burned through it by the filter laying on the transmission! Good catch man!

 

I had a similar problem when I had mine

 

same problem here, except was rubbing battery. i noticed it when i was cleaning my car a couple of months ago. threw it away and put stock back on. had the mod itch BAD when i put it on, and i was poor.
