kwsc high boost kit, for dd? and work?
kwsc high boost kit, for dd? and work?
i use my 08 fit to work i drive a decent amount maybe 80-110 miles 5 days a week, iv heard nothing but good from the company so i was wondering if i get the kit what to expect from putting a lot of miles/wear on the kwsc components, thanks
I wish i could get hi-boost!
I drive my 5 PSI Fit approx. 120 miles a day for my commute into NYC.
Been supercharged since December 2008, no problems.
Premium Fuel is a must (so is synthetic oil in my opinion) so expect to pay more just to operate your Fit in the long run but trust me, I'd NEVER go back to driving a Naturally Aspirated Fit after experiencing what the KraftWerks kit did for my car.

I can't because my car is an auto trans.
yea i mean i love how the high boost kit has all the goodies and all hahah, i just want a kit that is 100% bolt on no CEL, and reliable lol from what iv heard odds are id have zero probs
all im really looking for is an extra boost, 30-40whp reliable and low maintance, like i was saying before i use my car for work so i don't need the headache of the CEL on and ect ect, iv read nothing but good things for the most part but iv also read things about the CEL light coming on and what not i guess it depends on how well its installed
I'm pretty sure that the high bost kit requires a new ECU and fuel injectors so let that kinda speak to how much the kit has to alter your stock system whereas the base kit does not. I've always felt that the least amount of change from stock will have the least possiblity of problems down the road.
I'm no expert on the KW kit so maybe an owner can correct me if I'm wrong. I know the KW team has done massive amounts of research on both setups and I'm confident that both are built with reliability in mind.
I'm back and forth on the base kit vs. the high bost because I feel that if your going to spend about $3700 for the base kit and intercooler, you might as well spend the extra few hundred and get double the HP.
My suggestion is to call KW and air out your concerns. Anyone there will be able to give you expert advise and opinion on thier products.

The only reason why I would say don't go high boost, is the gas milage. Right now I'm about 29MPG and when I had the base it was about 32MPG (and I got about 34-35MPG stock). Currently, I am working on trying to improve it by serveral ways. I just got a Blitz Throttle Controller and have it currently set on ECO (so far it gets me to 29-31MPG, but still too early to tell). I just got my Beatrush underpanel, but just haven't installed it. I also have lighter rims (SSR Type C), but just waiting for my current tires on my stocks to wear out first. And just waiting on JDP on their rear diffuser.
But besides that, the high boost is a sure way to relieve stress after work
(as long as you don't red and blue flashing behind you).
