intake = higher redline?

intake = higher redline?
have any of you experienced a higher rev limiter point with just an intake installed? my car would redline and bounce of the limiter at exactly 6.5k, i installed an intake last night and although i havent pushed it to the max i can now take it beyond that point. i am asking because although i do not plan to be racing anyone anytime ever, it dosent seem like that small of a change should have such an effect.

no. It doesnt work like that. The limiter is set to a certain variable in the ECU. When it hits it, thats it. The only way for it to change is reprogram that variable that limits it. A intake will not affect it.

If the GD is anything like the GE in terms of revlimiting, it changes for each gear. first gear is 6800. 2nd gear is 6900. 3rd gear is 7100 and 4th gear is 6900. You could be mistaking that for any effect of the intake. As chris said, the intake has no means of increasing the redline.
