Question about CAI

Hi everyone.. I just recently got an AEM Col Air Intake. And I'd notice that my RPM is kinda high at like (3500-4000rpm) and im only driving 70mph. Is that normal? Need some ideas and help guys..

a cold air intake will not change your gearing

That RPM range is normal at 70mph, at least it is for my Fit (5spd M/T)

Yup, that is normal. It sucks but what can you do? I try to stay around 65-70mph tops. I wonder if the automatics are like that as well. Mine is a 5 speed and I swear I always make sure i'm in 5th gear every time when i'm on the highway. It never gets old as i'm always saying to myself, "am I in 4th gear?" because it's rpm's get high fast on 5th gear on the freeway.

i have a base auto. 70mph = 2700rpm ish. i've always been surprised at how low it was. it kinda sucks because it needs to downshift constantly. i wonder why the manual and auto are geared so differently. i also added an intake, no change in rpm, lol

don't worry the noisy intake is messing with your head
