Question Anyone know if I need

So I'm about to pick up a backup L15 engine for super cheap, Just need to know if I need a matching ecu with it before I buy? Or will it run with mine? Its going to be out of an 08MT and I've got an 07MT.

-Please, only if you know for sure as this purchase is some what time sensitive. thanks

I would say no you would not need the ECU, however if you can get it you should. As most of the time engines come with them.

This one's down the street at a wrecking yard with only 6k on it! Planning on swapping it in for now and pulling my 78k motor. I'm ether going to do a full build or just see what can be done with full ported head, cam, custom intake mani and bigger throttle body. I think smog is coming up real soon for me so I'll put this new motor in without the supercharger, just run it stock while I can get the head work done at least.

I'm tuning with the FIC now and it looks like I'm at a wall as far as If I build the motor. From reading through gd3kamiwanaB's build thread it looks like he had trouble tuning with the drop in compression and bigger pistons. I'd be happy to stick with the FIC if I can ever find a solution to the stock rev limit.
