Hows your clutch holding up?

Just wondering, I know GD3 Fit's have been around for quite some time now. Just wondering how everyone's clutch is holding up.

If its almost time, give us a holler. Maybe we can get a special price going on for any GD3 owners who might need a clutch soon.

Feel free to chime in, we'd love to help the community out.

Thanks.

Mine got swapped out after 85,000 km (~53,000 mi). It still had some friction material left but it was only a matter of time before terminal slip would begin rearing its ugly head.

Most of you probably don't drive your GDs as hard as I do, though, so it's a fair bet your clutches are still holding up. I don't imagine there being a huge difference between a GD1 and GD3 clutch assembly.

We carry the Exedy Stage 1. Got them in stock, so I firgured maybe if its time for a few members to get them replaced, we can offer special pricing.

Besides, doesn't hurt to prepare for the future when you need these replaced.

Thanks.

If I start regularly putting down triple digit hp and tq... and using my launch limiter I'm sure I will need one soon!

+1 for more info... I thought it was the max TQ numbers you had to worry about exceeding though.... Also, can these be reliably spun up to 7K+ RPM?

Most Exedy stage 1 are about 30% stronger than OEM. I will however, get the exact figures for this one for you.

We used to have a final drive for the GD3 actually. However, this part has been discontinued.

Over 80,000 miles and still holding strong even with high RPM shifts. Looking forward to upgrading once it shows signs of wear

Sorry for the late reply guys!

Here is the spec for the stage 1:

133ft./lb. Torque at the wheels. Or 166 ft./lb. Of torque at the flywheel.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks.

I will eventually need something that can handle as much as 325wtq and not drag during shifts at very high rpm (9k+), if you can fit that into the Fit's little bell housing, you'll have my money.

Does not have to be a sprung hub.

A sintered iron disc with good spline engagement would be key so I don't screw up my input shaft.

That may be asking a lot. But if you and a group like Spec can provide it would save me the time of working over a reluctant rep at South Bend or ACT.
