will I need an aftermarket clutch?

So my installer told me that an aftermarket is a must once I boost my l15a. He
described that my clutch would slip like crazy if I stick with the stock one. So what do you guys think? Is it really necessary at let's say 170whp?

its just an insurance factor. if ur stock clutch slips, then replace it with something better. But i would recommend doing it before hand. You dont want the clutch to start slipping on the dyno during your tuning, which will cause problems for the tuner.

with a better clutch, you get better engagement to put down the power with ease.

Competition Clutch Stage 4 is a very streetable and track-friendly clutch, even in a N/A application. I've tried them on several of my friends' cars (boosted and N/A) and i love the early engagement.

Problem is, there aren't much available for the l15 let alone here in the Philippines... I guess I'll just try and see what happens

Does anyone know how much power the Fit clutch can take? I was thinking about this when JR and T1R were pushing their super/turbo kits. The stock is only around 109 HP and only about 90-98 of that hits the wheels.

With the JR super 10lb kit featured in Siphon, they hit 157.8 HP at the wheels, which is a pretty significant jump. I know Honda components have always been built well both for reliability and mild-tuning in most cases, but I wasn't sure if they could stand the continued stress of these super/turbo kits.

805FitSport dynoed 200whp. Stock clutch and he said it held fine. I believe he had 15K + miles also.
BUT, theres a few on the forum claiming the clutch is slipping with a simple bolt on turbo kit and they have lower mileage.

Theres others testing the T1R Turbo kit. Ask Ben and find out who they are. Im sure theyre on stock clutches. JDMChris.com is on the stock clutch, he hasnt reported slipping.

You will probably go throught the OEMclutch pretty fast. Upgrade to a 6 puck. I'd recomend Action Clutch.
