is a d16a out of the question?

i happen to have one of these out in the garage in pretty decent shape. is it a possible swap? if so, i know i would need do have a split harness made. could anyone point me in the direction of someone who can help with getting my hands on one. i have seen all the k20 swaps but that is way out of the question for my budget. any info and/or advice you guys have would be great.

thanks,
Travis.

for the amount of effort in swapping, people do the K so they can actually have fun after all the work.

Even with a 01-05 civic tranny to make it cable shifted, the gearing and engine power just dont make the swap any fun until you pour some more money into it. My personal best with a D series is 148whp on a dynojet. I spent hundreds of dollars in parts, took advantage of friends going through machining and automotive classes to get things done for hundreds instead of thousands, and all I needed to do in place of it all was drop a K, bolt on a header, and tune it for 20-50 more HP and TQ pver the D setup

I should have waited until I was home to post. I found a few other swaps. I agree with the power difference between the k and the d. I would love to swap a k in but finding one under $3000 has proven next to impossible. Of I could find one, I would sell the d. I guess I will keep looking around for a k. More time to save funds anyway. Thanks for your opinions(minus sol's hahaha)

not this again. Is it possible? sure just about anything is possible. Rywire makes harnesses as far as I know, they might be able to make a custom harness. Other wise you do have the internet at your finger tips start doing so searching.

Here is what I would do, turbo your current motor. with supporting mods and a flashpro you should be able to make around 200whp and could probable do it for less then $5-6k

DSM, MNfit and solbrothers have told you what to do if you want more power.

I race my GD in SCCA Solo events regularly. If you focus on handling upgrades and a few power tweaks ( START WITH A FLASHPRO!!!) the Fit can be plenty of fun (even occasionally embarrassing $$$$$ cars in raw times with a good pilot .)

If your looking to squeeze out HP and take people in a straight line, open your wallet or pick a different plat form.

My .02, start by selling the D series and use that as your starting budget for whatever you choose to do.

Spend $500 on an EF with a blown motor and swap the D in that.

Will be cheaper and probably faster than the Fit if it's a decent D anyway.

AND then you can daily the EF when you put the Fit under the knife at any point in the future for some FI/K Swap goodness

Already wishing I had gone that route But I MIGHT pickup an H23 swapped 91 Accord coupe as a "daily beater."

after more searching i think this will be the route i will go. im not really looking for straight line performance, just want a little more "go". i think i will just stick with a decent turbo build and handling upgrades.

sorry guys for the thread. i didnt have a chance to do my research before i asked.

No prob!

To be super honest, this Forums search function actually kinda sucks.

Use google and include FitFreak in the key words, Pro Tip

You can look up my posts regarding FlashPro for the nitty gritty, and if it's not to late get into AJR's group buy! After that, I encourage you to PM DSM
