Need to know header!

Hi,

the weapon r ss race headers are looking damn good and want to grab myself a pair. Im running the 1.3 idsi engine, Ive read a few things, some fellas saying the l13a and l15a have the exact same header bolt pattern. Im just trying to get a 100% guarantee that they'll fit (minus the dreaded fitting issues I've heard they have already :P) does anyone have any pictures they can post of the 1.5 header setup? So I can literally compare the pic to my engine!

cheers
Maty

Here's a thought. Check with the Honda parts database. See if the exhaust manifold gasket part number is the same on both engines. If so, at least you will know that it will bolt up. Whether it fits in the engine bay might be another issue.

thanks for that blatantly obvious reply, so I did just that :P and yep they match, in fact, there's quite a few city/civic/fit(jazz's) that are all exactly the same! Handy to know, from what ive seen with the engine fitment and subframe all the GD models are identical, so looks like im going to be running a weapon r race header on a 1.3 hah, well it'll be a one of a kind, should sound interesting!

There's a video on YouTube of the install of this race header, but it was the 1-pc prototype. The final product is the 2-pc 4-2-1 header now. I am saving up for this header too! Let us know how it goes!

Just like I told you they were the exact same several weeks ago

Guess you are sure now.

hah loudbang indeed you did, I get so sure on one idea then some douche comes along and says "no of course its not the same" and bang, doubting again, but now i do know 100%! thanks for your advice man! Another quick q, how important is the resonator? My entire system will be weapon r race headers/down pipe, to a 2" b pipe with a high flow 200cel cat, possibly a resonator here after (glass pack?), to my current 2" axle back magnaflow straight through muffler, do I need this resonator?

Here's the cheapest and most accurate solution:

Buy a 1.5 exhaust manifold gasket. Then remove you header and match up the 1.5 gasket to your head.

I have the weapon-r header, it wakes the car up and makes it loud.

1. Buy the weapon-r CEL delete.
2. The header does not come with gaskets, buy the OEM header gasket and egr gasket.
3. You will also need additional hardware for the egr pipe: (x2) 8x25mm stainless bolts and brass nuts
4. And hardware for the header to mid pipe: (x3) 10x35mm stainless bolts and brass nuts

IIRC, the Weapon-R race header eliminates the cat already.

The resonator just helps reduce the sound. If you don't mind the noise and can pass inspection it is not necessary.
