L13a CVT to Manual conversion... Manual ECU swap.. car wont start.. HELP!

Hey guys,

I know the US doesn't have the l13a model but maybe someone can help. I converted to manual from the CVT, all went well, but car won't pass 4000 RPM... so I was told to get the manual ECU. I got the ECU, ignition mechanism with the Key, and the locks for the door, but not the harness.. Car won't start!! Anyway to bypass the immobiliser or the rev limiter? We're stuck, no clue what to do here... can someone help? Please! Thanks

I have the CVT, when the car is in park or neutral the engine will not hit redline, but rather cuts the fuel at around the 4000rpm mark. So, either your stock ECU thinks that the gearbox is in neutral or your are in a limp home mode.
The other ECU will prob never work.... so the way around this would be;
1. find how the auto gearbox tells the ecu that its in drive and trick the computer
or
2. get an after market computer and fix all the problems.
if you fix it, keep this updated so i know in the future how to get around this problem.
Cheers

Another quick note for anyone who checks this thread;

I noticed the other day that when the car is moving (i was doing 60kmph) and I put the car in neutral, the motor will rev past 4000rpm. So its a speed signal from the ecu that limits the rev range when in neutral.

Hope this helps anyone, and if the OP has fixed this issue and reads this, then post how you fixed it.

Now that you mention it.. the speedo is disconnected at the moment because the harness connector for the speedor sensor is different, so I couldn't connect it...

I just tried revving the car in neutral and it still limits at 4000 rpm.. not the speed then?
