Maf Grams Per Second
Maf Grams Per Second
When accelerating with the 2015 Fit LX CVT, I'm noticing that the maf g/s (Grams Per Second) reading will go up to 99-100g/s. At this max, the rpm gauge will be at 6300rpms. Then the rpm will settle back to about 6000rpm or so (Above 70mph) while still accelerating and the maf g/s will steadily start dropping off down towards the 80-90g/s range.
I would assume that the maf sensor's g/s would be steadily climbing slowly while the faster you go but this does not seem to be the case. It keeps rising until it hits the max 99-100g/s right about 60-65mph, then it starts tapering off slowly as speed continues to climb. Could anyone explain what I'm seeing here? Throttle body plate closing? False Maf sensor reading with extra air coming through?
Also, at the Fit's max speed (when it tops out), the maf g/s drops even further to below 80 g/s. It's reading less air at these higher speeds, which causes the air/fuel ratio to drop from a 12.0:1 ratio (which is already rich) to a 10.0:1 range. Is this an indication that the air going through the maf sensor is out of range?
This is with the stock air intake and air filter but with the stock ram-air piece having the splash guard removed. Thanks for any feedback.
