The DSI and the VTEC are not the same head.

The L13 is DSI (someone correct me if I'm wrong!!) while the L15 is a VTEC.

The DSI uses 2 spark plugs/3 valves per cylinder and the VTEC uses 1 spark plug/4 valves per cylinder.

The DSI engine has a swirl flow through it where the plugs fire off one after the other to completely burn the fuel/air mix.

It is supposed to be quite a bit more efficient.

You can read about it at:

http://asia.vtec.net/Series/FitJazz/lseries/index.html

(This also gives you correct information rather than my poor memory!!)

1.3 (1339cc) DSI works with 2 valves per cylinder
1.2 too.
