k20 swap question

Hey guys this is my first post here just acquired my 2007 honda fit with a knocking rod!!!

bought it as a project for 1000 bucks

already have the k20a2 fresh build and sleeved "going turbo" took stock fit motor out last night and i also ordered the has port mount brackets

I've got a question for the guys that have swapped the k 20 in there fits,I've tried the search option on the forum but came up with only one thread and that was back and outdated

is there new harness options?

and sorry if i missed a thread somewhere that had this covered

thanks guys

As far and I know there are no new harness option other he. Wendi g your harness and the motor harness out to hasport (I think?) for them to slice it together. What I had done was picked up the k tuned universal harness and had the shop splice it in with the OEM fit harness. If I would do it again is hit up rywire for a customs harness.

Also make sure to check the top of the page there is a stick about the k20 swap

Edit: origanly posted from phone, I swear it looked coherent when I posted it!

call up brian at hasport. Last thing I heard, which was two years ago when I started putting together a list to kswap, was that they had a new single harness setup so that you wouldn't have to run a dual ecu setup. however be prepared to spend $1500 for it and to keep the interior stock look with the gauges and cruise control.

Did you keep electronic throttle?

Or switch to cable

Thanks for the help gentlemen

I never went with a k swap but I was around jpax frequently and he was running a dual ecu setup so that he could keep the stock gauges and cruise control.

I would try to keep things DBW.

I am running a haltech, with a racepak. At the time I had the swap done it was pretty much common to swap from DBW to a cable. Not sure if now they can keep it cable or not

I just reread that you have a k20a2, means I would use a cable throttle. Jpax used a k20z3 so he stuck with the dbw.

Btw if you are looking to make some money off that l15a I would kindly take the head.

yes i did thank you for reminding me i forgot to update!!!!

so i contacted hasport again and they told me to supply them with the factory fit engine and charge harness and also a 2005 k20z1 harness---

good news is that i can now run only 1 ecu rather than 2

so now ill be using a 2008 tsx ecu with hondata k tuner and best part is factory cluster can now stay and will be working 100%

stay tuned I'm going to start a build thread as parts are already starting to arrive

Good news to hear, that is the build I will learn from. I would like to keep a stock interior with a K swap in the future. Good luck dude.

That much power reminds me of the couture honda fit making 700whp and had push arm cbr1000rr rear suspension.

Need some advice about the k-swap in a 2008-2010 honda fit

Hey everybody, I was wondering if i can get some advice from you about the Honda Fit K20 Swap… I’m in the process of doing the swap and want to know these answers:

1) Is the swap hard to do?
2) Is it the DC5 Type R K20a Engine with Transmission and with engine harness and Suspension, Brakes, Axles???
3) Which Radiator do i use? The one with the original Honda Fit or the one from the DC5 Type R??

I need some advice on how the swap is going to go.
