Heating elements can draw a fair amount of current, so you might want to check the current capability for the wiring to the switch, and the switch itself, to make sure it could handle the extra draw of two mirrors (if just the switch can't, a relay could take care of that). Otherwise, that seems quite sensible.

Honda used to make a seperate switch for the heated mirrors that would either be incorporated into the mirror switch itself or a completely seperate switch but they've pretty much done away with that and have made heated mirrors to come on when the rear defroster/defogger switch is turned on. that's how it is with the Fit, also.

I just finished taking a few parts off of a 2006 fit yesterday. It had the owners manual inside so I took a few minutes to look through it. If the optional heated mirrors were installed on the car they would be activated by pressing the rear defroster/defogger switch. The switch, which usually has the defroster/defogger mark directly in the center, would actually have not only the defroster/defogger mark but a mark of a side mirror, also. The marks would be evenly spaced on the switch plate.

For anyone trying to install heated mirrors...definitely use a relay with the defroster switch 12v+ being your signal source to close the circuit in the relay.

i tryed to make my stock mirrors heated with my old heated 12v socks which i used to use with my motercycle ,i ripped out the heat wire and hot glued it to the back side put could not snap them into the mirror socket so i gave up not much room in there. if you really wanted i gues you can put a light bulb in there to heat it up cheap way

if you guys want heated mirrors all you have to do is find someone to order them for you from whatever country they are offered in (NO...don't ask...I don't deal in new parts...sorry). The heated mirror type glass/mirror is sold seperately from the rest of the mirror assembly. It would require you to remove the existing glass portion of your mirrors, cut off the couplers on the special heated mirror couplers, splice and run longer wire through the mirror assembly along with the other mirror wiring, out throught the base/mount, through the door and to your relay setup.

Couldn't you just order parts 2 and 5? and then wire it yourself

$70, a done deal?

Muth Mirror Systems, LLC - Automotive Signal Mirror® Kits

While you are in there doing the heated section, add these signal lights to the side mirrors:

Looks it. The Burco folks sell mirror glass for the Fit so they may be able to tell you if their heating element will work. If so you should be able to adapt the Muth wiring to work with it.

I live in Lithuania and bought FIT from USA and found out that those mirrors are not heated. what i did first was going to the mirror service and changed driver side mirror glas to the sferic one with separate part on the side (more sferic) and asked to tape the heating elemnts on both mirror galsses. smth like this in photo. it costed me ~12$ for 2 heating elements taped/glued/mounted on the galsses and 13$ for one super good sferic glass (with this galss can see what's going on in 1,5 more lanes on the left.) iall this service (to cut the new galss and mount 2 elements) took 30min in winter time and the mirrors glasses were iced to the mirror mount block.

the only thing was left for me to wire it up. started with drivers side. wiring the elemnt was easy but the rubber pipe part betwen driver door and car body was pain in ass because of a big amount of wires (just in driver doors) not like in passenger side. 2 or 3 times less wires.

so two wires from both sides are in to my fuse box on the driver side. two of four grounded (-) other two left for (+). so i put a fuse on the end of them and now don't know which wire to connect to (don't have electric sheme). want to connect with rear defroster. thought that the circuit is:
1st defrosther switch
2nd defroster relay
3rd defroster fuse under the steer #9
4th defroster

just tried fo connect to the fuse #9 with fuse circuit connector but found out that the fuse is the 1st thing in the wire and it is always with power when ignition is on.

SO now i think that circuit is:
1st fuse #9
2nd defroster switch
3rd defroster relay
4th defroster.

Help me to find out what wire in the fuse blocks back side is betwen defroster relay and defroster bc i don't have service manual here.

would do the heated mirrors DIY write up with photos when every think will be in workin order.

Thanks for helping me in advance
Sorry for my english
