Paint chipping solution!

There is no doubt in my mind that all Honda and maybe some Acura cars has paint problem. The paint doesn't hold well to rocks chips and debris from daily driving. From experience I owned 2006 Acura TSX and the paints suck on it also. Thanks to 3M and $800 later my TSX front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors are now protected. Costly but $$$ well spent there. I just got my BOm fit less than 3 weeks ago and I also put the 3M PP on the front bumper, lower lip, hood, fenders and mirrors. Cost me $665 installed. I would highly recommend the 3M PPP kits from xpel the only kits that offered 5 years warranty and get the extended coverage for the hood, fenders and mirrors and the bumper which is fender to fender. I have git the kits from them on my TSX and after a year of driving it is perfect no regret or whatsoever.

Just at the FIT meet up in NYC this weekend i saw one on a VBP and you could clearly see the line where it was installed and it looked as though it was rough around the line :-x not too sure if i was a fan for making it look so wierd in the sake or protection...... so that it wouldnt look wierd from being chipped. I think i might take the route without the $700 that i could use to just fix scratches and dents if i cared enough

You can spend that money to get things repainted and fixed.

I agree... all that money to protect poor honda paint. I say let it get chipped up and then get it properly repainted.. front bumper and hood that is. The cost on that would be about 450-600 US depending on the shop you go to.

It only cost me 550 for my clear bra well worth it. For the people who say they can use that money to get it repainted, I say good luck. You can run into many problems getting things repainted, like the color not matching. Plus having it repainted it will just chip as easily or worse then OEM paint.

you only get what you pay for, if you pay 700$ for a new paint job, then i doubt you are guaranteed much of anything.

I got quoted 2,200$ and they guaranteed my paint job, and it came with 4 clear coats on top to help protect the paint job.

And this was for a black paint job...

Well i was thinking more or less just getting the bumper repainted for that cost... I actually dont think that down the line, paying 2,000 would be that bad of an idea to get a completely new paint job thats actually GOOD quality..... i went out to my car from work yesterday and realized there was a 4 inch long by 1/4inch wide scratch on my bumper where the paint was taken off.. and it was from the night before when i was parrell parknig and bumped the guy in front of me. Absolutely NOOO reason that a bumper should be scratchign paint in those situations. Damn Honda, my 99 civic's paint held up 1,000 times better then this crap
