Rock chips?

How easy does the front of the Fit chip from rocks/road debris? I got mine last thursday and im really worried about my front end being all chiped up. I cant afford the clear bra at the moment, but is the full nose mask worth the 145$ and the somewhat ugly look it gives the front of my Fit How bad is your Fit chipped up?

i drive mine at least 60+miles a day. The frint end holds up surprisingly well. My lip is all tore up (cause i painted it myself) but the bumper itself has maybe 2 or 3 little rock chips from driving. Ive had the fit over a year now.

When I bought my 04 Camry and found several small chips from alot of freeway driving I went and got a bra. I personnaly LIKE the way it makes the car look (MHO) and the protection is superior to any other device. It takes alot of work and care to keep the bra from doing damage to the paint. But IMHO ,,,,ANY damage from the bra is tolerable compared to the rock ships. I'll take RUBBED paint or scuffs that will never rust over chips all the way to bear metal ANYTIME. I have come up with a way to keep the parts of the bra that strech out and start flapping in the wind by using strong earth magnets painted black (almost invisable) to hold the material down. It actually looks kinda kewl. I also put a heavey ass coat of wax,,,I mean I glob it on, where the bra covers the car and DON'T rub it off. I just leave it on thick.

How does one reconcile threads like this one, where you folks have your paint still in decent shape, with these...

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...ighlight=paint

...where folks are really upset about the paint quality?

my car sits in the HOT Cali sun (i live in the desert pretty much) I DID have the paint peeling issue on the corners, but thats due to it rubbing/vibration which was taken care of. Ive never had the paint bubble on me. As long as you take care of your paint you wont have a problem.

With your conditions, that's probably your best and least expensive choice. Good luck.

I took my Fit from Memphis to Dallas a few weeks after I bought it. When I arrived, I was cleaning the bugs from the front and noticed two tiny rock chips side by side. That sorta pissed me off -- I was driving a 6 year old Ford Escort before and had maybe 2 or 3 barely noticable rock chips in my many trips back forth (I go there several times a year). When I arrived back in Memphis, I noticed another chip, this one bigger, and dent in the pant on my passenger mirror. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but that sort of thing will take the "new" right off of a new car I haven't had any since, but I also haven't driven 15 hours (round trip) on the interstate at an average speed of 75mph since. I dread my next Dallas trip because I just know there'll be more. Hopefully I can scrape together enough for clear bra ... it just sucks that the paint is so weak that you even need one.

I see them every time I approach my Fit, and ugh, makes me sad every time.
