CF doors?

Hey guys, I know there's a bunch of carbon fiber body kits, but what I'm looking for is a place that sells carbon fiber doors. I got a big scratch on my rear left door and I've done everything short of bringing it in to the shop to get rid of it, but you can still tell it's there. So, instead of bringing it to my local body shop, I figure I'd start modifying my car (I was gonna wait until I had 10k miles, but oh well). Anyone know anywhere that sells them?

Uh, I wouldn't do it if this is your daily driver, especially if it's from Seibon or VIS Racing. Crappy wet lay-up carbon isn't pretty, nor safe during an impact.

If you're really hell-bent on it, find someone who'll do vacuum formed doors for you. I still wouldn't do it if your car is a daily driver.

ya, carbon door for a daily is just bad news all around. Metal takes pressure and bends, Carbon just shatters, it's your call.

I saw your request on my carbon parts thread and if you really want carbon doors there are a couple options you may consider. First I assume you want exposed carbon for the full carbon look. Full carbon doors are very light but you run into a lot of issues with windows, no crash protections, poor door sealing, etc. Unless you are really trying to drop a few pounds for performance I would recommend having the parts overlaid. This would put a layer of carbon on the top surface and it will look great if done well. Second option would be to reskin the door with carbon. This could be done by having outer shape of the door molded, then formed in carbon. Next you would need to actually remove the outer sheet metal skin from the door and then epoxy the carbon one on in place. This is a bit of work but you have a carbon door and maintain most of the benefits of the stock door.

thanks rogue fit. I'll probably go with the second option. Now all I need is somewhere to get the carbon so I can make my mold.

Not to assume anything, but are you familiar with working with carbon? There are a number of places on line that supply materials, such as fiberglast.com. You will need fiberglass molds of the door skins, then a part like this should be vacuum bagged. It's not all that difficult, but if you are not familiar with parts like this I would recommend starting with some smaller parts first.
