Mugen vs. replica install

So I've been researching the Mugen door visors vs. replicas and my one concern is installation (and money, har-har). Do either of them use any sort of clip along with the 3M tape, or is it just tape all the way?

The Mugen replicas are only 3M tapes.

The real Mugens use tape and clips that go under the weatherstripping.

Ok, I thought so so, just needed to be sure. I don't know if tape alone will hold up with the erratic New England climate, hmmm....
