Arrow I took my front lip off...

to help with the clearance.

I'm going to be deploying to Iraq for a year and I'm leaving my car at my father's house for him to take care of. So I took the lip off because I have this feeling that he is going to ruin the thing. If he does manage to scratch the bumper the lip should cover it up when I put it back on.

I put vinyl over the bottom part where the lip should be. You can't see the holes.

Part of me kind of really likes how this looks. I don't know...

ohh and both of my foglights cracked and i haven't got around to replacing the glass with lexan so i just 'vinyl-ed' that too

its just a matter of first taking the fog lights out (1 screw and 1 plug on each foglight) then the bumper (open the hood take the clips out, take the clips out from under the bumper and the one screw in each wheel well; then pull the bumper out, when you have the bumper out take the two screws out of each side and the five bolts out of the inside of the bumper; the lip will side right off.

while i had the bumper off i used vinyl with an adhesive backing to cover up the holes and add some dynamic to the front bumper

its very very very easy... just somewhat time consuming if you're being careful

If the rest of the cladding (rear lip and side skirts) were removed you could drive it off road without tearing any thing up.... I think it would look cleaner as well...... Shorter lips and skirts would allow a person to drop the car even more to lower the center of gravity..

Thanks for posting this! My Fit got molested by a Suburban so the driver side spoiler lip and bumper and hanging out. So I've been trying to figure out how to take the spoiler lip off (broken) and how to clip the bumper back on. 1/2 not bad.

Thanks.
