Shark Fin Antennas

So, I've been searching around for some shark fin antennas and is down to two options:

1. Visual Garage:
VG Shark Fin Antenna - What Is It?
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...y-special.html

2. Beat-Sonic
Beat-Sonic FDA4 Functional Shark Fin Radio Antenna
?????????????Beat-Sonic? FM/AM???????[????????]?????????? (Japanese Site)

Appearance:
Visual Garage's antenna seems to have the more rounded look with rounded top and rounded sides whereas the Beat-Sonic one looks more sharp with sharper edges. The Beat-Sonic one also looks to be a little taller and maybe thinner whereas Visual Garage it flatter and wider.

Functionality:
Both appear to use similar engineering. The antennas are both screwed in into the base of the antenna and connected. I am assuming that the reception should be similar.

Price:
Visual Garage $69
Beat-Sonic $84, but on sale for $58.80

Waiting Time:
Visual Garage has a waiting time for a few weeks so that the antenna is painted as ordered. But Beat-Sonic ones are ready to be shipped almost immediately.

I would like to hear everyone's input and would also love to see both antennas side by side if available.

I got mine from Visual Garage. On their website it says that there is a waiting time, but they had it shipped within like 2-3 days after my order

i just picked one of these up from another member i will post my reviews once i get it in. but test fitted the visual garage one matches perfectly .

glad to know your signal has improved. my stock reception sucks.

i like the look the beat sonics it looks really agressive. the VG ones look knida fat.

i've started to notice these sharkfins on other cars i believe the VG ones look exaclty like oem BMW ones. and it looks really good on some cars and absoluetely hideous on others. on the fit - is so so. but remember when installing to push it far forward enough so that the spoiler ( if you have a sport) doesn't hit it.

ShartFin Antenna

Well I installed the following one;
07-10 HONDA FIT WHITE Functional Shark Fin Antenna COOL: eBay Motors (item 150437496309 end time Jul-24-10 22:24:30 PDT)

It looks great and I was able to also hide the XM radio antenna under it too. Good luck.

Shark Fin

Here are some just taken, sorry the car is dirty. Also the small tail was added to hide the XM antenna wire. I painted the tail and black base with matching paint and clear.

Thanks for the pictures. Not bad at all. It's really cheap too. I like how small it is.

Shark Fin

I get the same bars on the radio both OEM antenna and the shark fin antenna. It fits on very tight as it's a spring type plug.

What are the base dimensions of these units? Would a 1-1/2x1-5/8 XM sat antenna fit underneath?

Shark fin Antenna

I have my XM Antenna under the fin along with the antanna base, it is at the rear of the fin and siitting sideways. I had to cut a small amount of the plastic on the botton of the fin to get everything in, but easy to do.

i put my VG on for a test fit. and it looks kind of strange. like it doesn't belong. DANG those beat sonic ones are CHEAP! that's what i paid for a USED VG one.

local to SOCAL too! man. hahah great deal!

did it affect the reception in any way?

does the color match perfectly?
