Streaks on windshield
Hi all,
i purchased my 2019 Fit Sport in orange in the middle of May.
ever since I got the car I get a streak on the windshield in the rain about 4 inches wide and directly in my line of vision. The dealer said to clean the wiper blade, I did that but it didn’t work. I replaced the wiper blade but that didn’t work either,
it has been slightly improved by applying RainX to the windshield, so now it just beads up, but it still bothers me. Maybe I’m a bit OCD about it but I feel like this should not be a problem on a brand new car.
what can I do about it? Should I be pushing the dealer to look into it? (Maybe the glass isn’t quite flat?). It’s really bugging me!
thanks

I agree that it should NOT be a problem on new vehicle.
I will have to say however, that when I bought my 2016...brand new, the windshield wipers were problematic from the start. I never had problems with streaking, but I did have trouble with the blades dragging and chattering to the point of being unusable.
Since your vehicle is brand new, I would take the dealership and have them work to fix the problem, why not? Could need a whole new arm, or whole new blade assembly or both. But why should you pay to have it work?
I do have a question.
When you say you replaced the wiper blade, are you talking about just the blade itself? The insert? Or are you talking about the whole wiper blade assembly?
I regret that I didn't push the issue with my wipers harder when my Fit was new. I eventually gave up with the dealership and bought Bosch wiper blade assemblies...the whole assemblies, Blades and Holder. They were pretty spendy, but worked good.
I hope the dealership can get your OEM's to work however, because keeping and maintaining those is much cheaper in the long run.
Even though the problems are different,- sad to hear that it seems Honda is still having quality issues with their wipers.
I'd start out, putting the onus for fixing the problem on the dealership and the warranty.

I went to the Canadian Tire and bought a whole wiper blade (not the arm and not just the rubber strip). I didn't know you could replace just the rubber strip.
