NOT the oil plug

Hi, I was attempting to teach my son how to change the oil on his Fit. He got under the car and loosened a large 17mm bolt in the center of the undercar. It was not the oil plug. The bolt will not screw back in. What is it? Can he safely drive it to the shop for them to fix?

I think you'll have to post a pic of the bolt location.

I assume no fluid drained with it and it is a chassis bolt?

you are correct, I am pretty sure its a motor mount bolt. We will nurse it to dealership tomorrow. Thank you!

No offense, but did he not see or was not shown that wasn't the oil pan?

Honestly, I don't know what this bolt is exactly.

However, with the length of the bolt and size (17mm head), I would assume this is an engine mount bolt. When the bolt was removed (all the way out!!!), the engine shifted a bit and the mounting holes of the mount do not align anymore, preventing the bolt from going back in.

You will probably need to put a floor hack under the engine and raise it a bit so the bolt will go back in. In any case, you really need to tell what this bolt does before doing anything else.
