I've been googled to, and searched, this site's great information many times over the past few weeks. Impressive path through the Fit's misfire issue related to valve lash, coil packs, and spark plugs. Relying on maintenance item #4 code to pop on the Honda Fit's electronics before checking the valve lash is very poor on Honda's part. IMO.
I had replaced the plugs (NGK) and coils (Denso) a week ago. Misfire codes in #3 & #4 came back. Adjusting the valves was a game changer. The Intakes were fine. The exhaust had tightened up to <.0025 (1 valve) and up to ~.009. None of the exhaust valves gaps passed a .010. I had no idea this car needed such (family members car). Cars runs like new while posted and pending codes are gone!
