Finally joined the club - 2020 EX Orange Fury - my Fit journey
Thanks for everyone's help on this forum, it's been a wealth of information as I considered getting a Fit over the fast few months. I finally decided on a 2020 EX in Orange Fury and I love it! I was originally going to get a blue LX manual but that is just about impossible to find, so a drove a manual in grey. I liked it OK but the LX is a bit bare and, more importantly, the 6th gear is useless. I was against the CVT but drove one (because it's so hard to find manuals in a color I wanted) and actually really liked it - pickup was good and it's very smooth. So looking at EX (since CVT an option) and still liking blue but my wife and daughter saw an orange and fell in love with the color. I had to agree, it's quite unique and eye catching. So, made the call (my dealer had a blue and orange side-by-side for me) and not looking back. Now I just wonder if I've bought the last of a dying breed (is 2020 the last year in the US) ala 2011 Element owners! ;-)
My Honda HR-V is to be returned under lease in January. I am a former Fit owner , 2009 Milano Red. Loved it. I now have my eye on what dirkpitt73 bought. There is one 2020EX orange fury in stock at my dealer. (BTW Dirk, I love Custler too). I have no concerns about the vehicle, but I would love some comments about the fact that the 2021 Fit/jazz won't be released in the US. I was going to have my salesman run the numbers for both leasing and buying. If they are close what would you do? Does anyone think the Jazz will be brought to US in a few years? I should mention that I'm retired so I put very little mileage on my car. I'd tell you what my odometer reads after 3 years but you'd die laughing. Thanks.
The HR-V is a three year lease. Nothing wrong with it mechanically but I dislike several interior features. They may seem small but it's enough for me to change. 1.) the cup holders are way back almost at elbow level although I do sit close to the wheel. You could never use one of the Weathertech phone holders because you couldn't see it. 2.) the plugs for any electronic devices are located somewhere under the console and hard to get to.3.) I like an old fashioned hand brake, not the push tab version and 4.) a smaller car would fare better in my garage. My husbands latest Toyota Tacoma has a step up that runs the length of the passenger side cabin. It juts out easily taking 6-8" from my side of the garage. Garage isn't huge to begin with.Otherwise the HR-V has been a good car as have my CR-V and my Civic sedan.
Hi lzqct - I can't speak to the lease question, I've only ever bought. As for whether Honda will be bringing the new Fit/Jazz here some time in the future, I highly doubt it - unless we see $5 gas pricing again. They make too much extra margin on the jacked up Fit (aka HRV). If you like the Fit and that color (I love mine) and want to get one new, better act fast! I wish I'd gotten an EX-L, but now no interesting colors left in leather in my state. Always good to chat with another Cussler fan! :-)

Thanks for that. I passed on the HR-V initially b/c I was thinking that the auto climate control would be plagued with problems. On the Fit I've never read about that issue for the auto climate control. There are tons of issues with the push button start though.
