The whole story of “why" would be even more TLDR than this, but we now have two Fits!
When we lived in Atlanta some years ago, we bought a new Mini convertible in May 2009. After a few months, we realized that it was not the commuter car we wanted for wife’s daily 60-mile r/t. Bought base '09 Fit in October.
Over the next few years, we moved to the top of Virginia, and along the way, piled 254,000 miles on the Fit ... the Mini, a garage princess, now has 80K.
Cannot say that the Fit has been flawless, but it’s been pretty darn good. Beyond ordinary and timely maintenance, only issues have been failed cat (at c.200K miles, and not replaced) and R&R clutch at c.240K miles. Not bad at all.
We were thinking about replacing it with a new Passport or CR-V, but saw a newish red Fit in Erie last week and, on return home (in Fit #1), stopped at Smail Honda in Greensburg, Pa., and drove away in two Fits, with #2 a red '20 EX in the showroom.
Doesn’t everyone do that sort of whimsical buying?
We'll probably keep both, if for no other reason than having the '09 to brave VDOT's winter road chems.
The pair now match our Polish flag and my wife's DNA.

Reason: Grammar guilt. ;-)
Welcome to the club! Great to have another Fit owner here. Lots of very informed members on here with a wealth of information, so you've come to the right place!
