1st gen motor in 2nd gen Fit

I have an opportunity to buy a 2009 chassis with a blown engine...the only JDM engine available 240 miles away is a L15A long block from a first generation 2001-2006 Fit. Does anyone know it that particular engine will work with the newer 2009 model? I do my own mechanic work and want to get this for my teen daughter.

No they do not interchange. Just buy the correct engine for the chassis.

"No they do not interchange." would have been suffice...I said the L15A was the only engine available and I know absolutely nothing about Honda Fit's, only Civics. Oh why do thread members have to be such smart asses??

Any smart man would just buy the correct engine for the car. Because the generations of Fit are clearly different. People get so mad when you point out the obvious to the question they asked. The same answer goes for Civics. You use the correct generation engine for the chassis you are working on. Easy peasy.

If the L15A is your only option you for sure not looking hard enough. These 2nd gen Fit's are in junk yards and being parted out all over the US at this age. Super common. Try harder. And just buy the correct stuff.

Now that's where you're wrong WISE GUY. 3rd, 4th, 5th AND 6th genration Civics use the same D series long blocks. That's why I asked but since you guys are assholes, don't worry about it. I got the answer I needed.
