2020 Fuel Range guage

I purchase a 2020 fit EX automatic. The issue I am having is the digital Fuel Range gauge is giving me false reading. I filled it up first time it read 371 drove a few days it read 250. Today I filled it up and the range says 253 . I am not sure if it’s malfunctioning I am not sure if I am missing something.

Any help will be great

The range will change depending on your driving habits. If you drive aggressively, the gauge will show a lower range because to put it simply, it’s calculated based on RANGE(miles) = FUEL(gallon)* AVG.CONSUMPTION(miles/gallon) or RANGE(km) = FUEL(L) / AVG.CONSUMPTION(L/100km).

Your average consumption can change, and the car will do it’s best to calculate the range based on that, so the range is the cars best guess. I notice if I’ve been driving in the city or in stop and go for a long time, then I transition onto a highway, sometimes my range appears to stand still or even increase. Also I’ve noticed as you get near the bottom of the tank, it will read maybe less than the actual range, but I think that’s just a safety margin.

Thanks for the information. I will monitor for the next few day. I drive 55 miles each way to work all high way , on weekend in town, Let’s see how it goes.
