New Fit owner in SF, CA, USA
Hello All,
New owner of a Brand Used 2018 Fit in Sport trim, red, CVT, no sense package, with 38K on the clock. Purchased from Enterprise Rent A Car used car sales. A buddy from the East Coast who works at a dealership assured me that a fleet vehicle was a good selection and the car was used in Reno NV so no body work issues like a car from NYC or other major metro would face as a rental.
Impression so far, bought on President's Day and drove it from Reno to SF to save the 450+ dollar charge to transport the dealership wanted. Some of the complaints I've read about lackluster acceleration, cabin noise, rough ride were not an issue to me at this price point. For a 1.5L four banger I had no issues merging or around town where I find energy management and looking far ahead to be more important than power output. The ride while not plush is not harsh at all, and the responsiveness to steering inputs is crisp and snappy, adding the shorter length of the body made lane changes a breeze. While the though of a utilitarian car like this (which I need/love) coming in a "sport" trim made me chuckle it does make it look a bit less dull and I can't say if it change the performance over the standard trim.
Looking forward to dipping in to the collective wisdom regarding interior items as my old phone holder has very few places to attach, as well as I need to wrangle my Significant Other from filling every pocket and space with paper and sundry items she feels we absolutely must have in the car "just in case". Will be keeping the car for at least two years until her and I figure out what comes next in life as our decades long residency in SF is probably drawing to a close as market forces and world situation has taken much of the character (not the beauty that is only slightly marred) and uniqueness of the people away at least for the foreseeable future. Those were many of our friends and life without the good company of people you admire for their qualities not just the size of the bank accounts/investments or having high aspirations to lead the Market or other more mundane goals, makes a place feel empty. Suggestions of places (anywhere in the world) with the creative sprit, curiosity, community, and kindness are strong are very welcome! Cheers, Curtis
