bought a salvaged fit from a great shop in Seabrook NH that specialized in just that. (I’ll upload photos of original crash)
it was a 2011 Honda Fit w/ 69,000.
Three months later a drunk driver hit the car parked on the side of the street by my friends apartment in Brooklyn. 7am.
I didn’t wake up for another 3 or four hours. By then the police had arrested the guy sleeping in his truck at the scene of the crime.
If you didn’t already guess, he’s uninsured, and I don’t have collision.
So insurance is scam, but I took the car to my shop. They said 3,500 bucks. More than half of what I paid for the car, and no guarantee to pass inspection. So I brought it back to Newfound Motors in Seabrook, and they said they could help me out for 1,500 and that it would have no trouble passing inspection. (Love those guys. Father son business super friendly low key down to earth)
So he hammered it out and I’m back on the road. Running beautiful as ever. My question though about the body work. Any body have thought on how I can clean up the job he did for me? He hammered it out, and applied some putty / welding, but the paint is chipping some and I don’t want it to get worse and worse with rust. Thanks!
