Thumbs up YeeeeeHaaaaa!!! II

After waiting since November, when I finally managed a test drive in an auto (didn't care for it) I stated that I just WOULD not "settle" for what cars the dealer had coming (especially since this is my first new car purchase!!), I'm getting my VBP Sport 5MT!! I have A VIN, and will pick it up on Monday!!! Drive out price: MSRP $15,765, Documentation $199, 7% Tax $1, 117.48, Title/Tag $41.00, Total $17,122.48. Plus, got a set of all season floor mats! Approximately 52hrs:30mins and counting!!!
AND I bought an oem cargo tray for $55, free shipping!!! YeeHaa!!!!!

New Fit

Congrads!

I drove my first Fit a few weeks ago and the dealership is telling me that I will just have to take what they can find! So I am waiting a few months to see if they start keeping them on the lot. The one I test drove is already sold! It is a great car. How did you get the one that you wanted without any problems? My local Honda dealership doesn't really like the car and does not seem to plan to keep any on the lot. Said they would rather see me in a Civic - which is a great car too but not nearly as much fun as the Fit.

Response to Cat: I simply made it clear that I would not accept "what came in", and that if I had to wait 6 months, it didn't matter, if a sale was going to be completed. In the past, when I bought a used car/demo/etc. I was willing to make compromises. One of the best parts of buying a new car is that you get EXACTLY what YOU want. If the dealer will not work w/ you, THEN FIND ANOTHER DEALER; you will be spending YOUR money and you are not obligated to pander to a dealer who doesn't realize what good customer service is.

When I went looking for my Fit I wanted Blue VERY,VERY bad. I knew the MT was out of the decission process because the Misses can't drive a stick and we had a couple of issues when I had my 2000 Si, a MT and Blue of course Anyway, I got a hold of the dealer I ended up getting my Fit from. They had 2 Red, 1 Orange and 1 Blue. I told I'll be up there tomorrow. When I arrived the Blue had been sold by another sales person. I was crushed and pissed. I didn't care for the Orange, and I promised myself I would never own a red car again. One was broken into, one was hit by a deer...yes that is right it hit me , one had a drunk "Dukes of Hazzard impersonator slide across the hood several times (it wasn't me and yes he got his) and one had the back half of the car removed with a combo of snow, ice and an unforgivingly high median and steel pole. Long story a little longer, I love my Milano Red Fit. Yep, I bought the last red one they had left. The color is probably the most gorgous red I have ever seen. I'm not saying to settle by any means, but sometimes, at least in my case, it worked out really well.
