New '07 Red Fit!
New '07 Red Fit!
Past few years I've been driving an awful '99 Saturn SL2. Leaks like crazy, engine blew up once on me, shakes rattles and rolls, and inside panels fall off. This past weekend my fiancee was driving it and saying the transmission was acting funny.
Uh oh!
The way our daily commutes work out makes it that if one of our cars broke down, we'd be in big trouble. So I went from not even thinking about a new car on Friday, to picking up a brand new 07 Fit Sport last night.
Went to the dealership not expecting much...in fact, earlier in the day I had applied for a loan and was denied so I was just going to go and try to work something out and see if it would be possible to get a loan with a reasonable interest rate. My biggest thing going against me was my negative equity on the Saturn - almost $4000! My credit also isn't that great, I am still recovering from past poor money management as a teenager.
I was expecting to get just a base model Fit since it would be cheaper than a Sport, although I WANTED a sport. Well, I get there and lucky me - they have a Sport on "manager's special" for the price of a base model! It's red and while it's not my number one color, it has already grown on me.
Talking with the salesperson and dealing with financing, we finally were able to work something out with my fiancee as number one on the loan, me secondary on it. Got a very reasonable interest rate with our credit, a reasonable monthly payment, and we had some extra perks thrown in as well. Drove off last night with my new Fit!
So now I'm going to hurry up and get dressed just so I can drive to work (ew) in my car (yay)!
While it seems like a rushed decision, I spent nearly all day both Saturday and Sunday researching various car options I had - the Fit was definitely the best option I came across.

Wow, congratz on getting a sweet deal on a new Fit! Thats the first time ive ever heard of someone getting a Sport that far under MSRP! I even payed OVER MSRP!!! So your a lucky one lol! MR looks really awesome on the Fit, and it turns alot of heads. A new Honda will be a true treat after driving a Saturn for a while!

, it was so random that i bought a car that day, i really wasnt even in the market for a car..So i made the mistake of not shopping around..DONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE lol
Thanks for the replies! The red is definitely nice, and it really has grown on me very quickly. Such a fun car! My fiancee is going to a Mary Kay meeting tonight, so I get to spend time with the car and clean out all the crap that I had to throw in it from the Saturn. I'm EXCITED.
A co-worker who knows I'm a HUGE fan of Spongebob (I'm 24, a male, and am proud to say I enjoy watching Spongebob) suggested I name the car Mr. Krabs. I think it's a good name!

Definitely not for a while. The wedding is sucking up every last penny I have that doesn't go towards a bill.
When I can afford mods, I don't really plan to do much. Maybe a few things to improve performance without killing my warrenty, and perhaps some cosmetic stuff. Never modded a car before so I'm not really sure of what I want to do.
